About

Privacy-first professor ratings

OpenAcademiaRating is built to protect graduate and PhD reviewers while giving future students a clear view of advising culture, mentorship style, and teaching outcomes.

How anonymity works

Reviewers verify their `.edu` email once. After verification, all published reviews are anonymized. No public profile, no visible username, and no disclosure of institution metadata beyond the selected school and class. Reviews are public; only submissions are gated by verification.

  • • Verified email stored privately, never shown publicly.
  • • Reviews display only scores, comments, course, and term context.
  • • Moderators can remove abusive content without exposing identities.

What we measure

Ratings focus on advising outcomes with optional teaching and academic scores. Reviews can be course-specific, program-specific, or advising-only.
